A previous booklet in this series set about answering the question “Wich is better, the Bishop or the Knight?” and several generalizations were made eg: open positions favour the Bishop.
Alas a similar question is of course inappropiate here and no doubt the reader would be less than impressed if I left him with the sole generalization that usually a good Bishop is better than a bad Bishop!
Therefore I will leave any conclusions to the individual chapters, but first it is necessary for us to cover some fairly simple but very important basic endgames.
